COVID-19 Update for ADEA
AADSAS
®
Applicants
Just a little reassurance: The ADEA
AADSAS
®
(ADEA Associated American
Dental School Application Service)
application will still open as planned on
Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
We understand that the uncertainty
and closures we’re seeing due to
COVID-19 are causing many people to
rethink their spring plans; yet, we also
know that health care providers are
needed now more than ever.
BY NOW…
By now the following should be done or in
progress:
Taken or reserved a seat for the DAT exam
Reviewed the topic of your personal statement
with the Pre-Health Office and met with the
Writing Center or Career Center to begin
polishing. (Writing Center is only open until
Wednesday, May 27 and will not be open
during the summer.)
Carefully checked all transcripts from all post-
secondary courses for any anomalous grades
which should be changed.
Requested more than the number of
recommendation letters required. These should
be received in the Pre-Health office by the first
week in June. All your letters must arrive
before we an submit your committee letter.
AADSAS does not allow any additional letters to
be sent after submission.
Have current name and contact information
(email/phone) for EACH of your experiences.
(Mrs. Wood-Hill can NOT be listed as a contact)

listed on your official transcripts and do not correct errors

during the verification process, at which point it will be
your responsibility to correct them.

Course Prerequisites:
Applicants
Prerequisites
This tab may or may not be available, depending on
the selections of each dental school. If it is available,
applicants will be given a list of the school’s
prerequisite course requirements and asked to
designate which courses have been taken or are
planned which fulfill the requirements. Applicants
must first complete the Transcript Entry section
before courses can be selected as prerequisites.
Entering these courses does not mean an applicant
has met the school’s prerequisite requirements.
Instead, the school is asking applicants to self-
identify courses for their review. If an applicant has
any questions regarding what the program will
accept regarding these prerequisites, please contact
the program directly. Applicants can learn more
about prerequisites required by each dental school
in the ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools.
