COMMUNITY GAME NIGHT FORMAT
Weekly Format
5-8 teams will be placed into a group
3 round Swiss System Brackets will be played during the game night
There will be as many groups as interest allows
Match Format
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Best of three
Fortnite - Best of three
Rocket League - Best of five
Overwatch - Best of three
Seeding
Brackets will be seeded based off of ECAC regular season ranking.
Pick-up teams will be seeded into their own groups.
Seeding will be adjusted for subsequent matches.
Seeding only exists for this event to ensure exciting, close matchups.
Rulesets
Since this event is for fun, we won't actively enforce our traditional rule set. Choose
maps, game modes, and sides via friendly agreement.
We recommend following the ECAC Esports Official Rulebook.
Note: The ECAC Community Game Night version of the LeagueSpot website will be a
separate instance from the official ECAC Esports LeagueSpot website.

REGISTRATION
Player Registration
1. Fill out the following survey so that admins can invite you to LeagueSpot. Admins
will send out waves of registration emails every weekday morning, and at the
beginning of team enrollment in the bracket.

2. When you join the ECAC Community Game Night website, you will need to fill out a
registration page of basic info.

3. You will need to join the ECAC Discord if you are not already in it.
4. You will need to add your Discord username (format:
Example#1234
) and game
handle(s) to your LeagueSpot profile. You can do so by:
a. Clicking on your user in the top right hand corner,
b. Clicking “PROFILE” from the dropdown,
c. Clicking the next to your name, and finally,
d. Enter your Discord username and game handle, then click “SAVE”.

Finding and Registering a Team
1. All students and managers, as well as any non-students are welcome to join the
community game night. If you have a team, skip to step 3.
2. If you are looking for a team, you may use the #community-night-pug to find
teammates.
3. You must designate one or two players as the captain(s) of the team. The captain
will be responsible for communication between teams and reporting the scores on
LeagueSpot, as well as enrolling the team in the bracket when bracket registration
opens on game day (@6PM Eastern).
4. Once you have a complete team with at least one designated captain, the captain
will need to use #community-night-team-creation to post your team roster in the
following format:
“<TEAM NAME>
Captains:
*<FIRST NAME> <LAST NAME>, <DISCORD HANDLE>
Players:
*<FIRST NAME> <LAST NAME>, <DISCORD HANDLE>“
Please keep your team name appropriate.
*Repeat this line for each instance.
5. Admins will create any listed teams, with captains and players, every weekday
morning, and before the brackets open up to team enrollment.

GAME DAY PROCEDURES
1. Captains will need to enroll their team in the bracket when bracket registration
opens at 6PM Eastern and BEFORE 7PM Eastern of game day.
2. Check your team into the upcoming match on LeagueSpot once the bracket has
been seeded at 7PM Eastern.
3. The team captain will need to add the opponent team captain to their friend’s list.
All players need to make sure their username is listed on their LeagueSpot profile.
a. Overwatch: add the opponent’s Battle.net username (format:
Example#1234).
b. Rocket League uses a lobby system in which you do not need to add your
opponent. Communicate the lobby details with your opponent over Discord.
c. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate uses a lobby system in which you do not need to
add your opponent. Communicate the lobby details with your opponent over
Discord.
a. Fortnite: add your opponent by their
Epic Name
4. The team captain of the home team will then create the lobby and invite the
opponent. Home team will be the team listed first on LeagueSpot (listed on top on
mobile and on the left on desktop).
a. Overwatch: PLAY > GAME BROWSER > +CREATE
b. Rocket League: Play > Private Match > Create Private Match
c. Super Smash Bros Ultimate: Online > Smash > Battle Arenas > Create Arena
d. Fortnite: invite the opponent duo to your squad once you have your
teammate in the lobby

5. The team captain of the away team will need to join the lobby and invite their
teammates. Away team will be listed second on LeagueSpot (listed on bottom on
mobile and on the right on desktop).
a. Overwatch: add opponent team captain and wait for invite
b. Rocket League: Play > Private Match > Join Private Match (you will need
lobby name and password)
c. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Online > Smash > Battle Arenas > Join Arena >
Enter Arena ID (you will need Arena ID)
a. Fortnite: add opponent team captain and wait for invite
6. Ensure that the lobby settings are correct.
7. After each game is played, the winner will report the score and submit the
screenshot. Rinse and repeat this step until there is a winner.
Any matches that have not been checked into will be forfeited 15 minutes after the match
time begins. There will be absolutely no exceptions to this, as the admins will need to keep
everything moving in a timely manner. PLEASE report your match as soon as it’s over.
