n I attend if I have not yet registered with the GPhC?
Yes, you should have declared on your booking form that you intend to practise in a
community pharmacy providing NHS services in England in the next six months.
Do I need to pay for the course?
The charge is £500 for the four-day course. The course fee includes all accommodation and
meals, pre-course reading materials and all learning programmes used during the course as
well as access to relevant distance learning and e-learning programmes.

hat will CPPE pay for?
CPPE will pay for your food and accommodation.
W
ill CPPE pay for accommodation the night before the course begins?
CPPE will not cover the cost of an additional night's accommodation.

eed to book accommodation with the hotel?
No. Accommodation is automatically booked for you.

w long does the course last?
Days one and three start at 10:00am and finish at 6:30pm. Days two and four start at
8:30am and finish at 4:00pm. Attendance on all four days is compulsory.
Do I n
eed to stay for all of it?
Your attendance is compulsory for all four days of the course.
What if I need to cancel my place on the course?
If you cannot attend, you must let us know in writing as soon as possible. Please be
aware that if you are not able to give us sufficient notice, or you do not turn up, we will
charge you a fee. Please refer to the CPPE Preparing for practice cancellation policy either
on the booking form or on the Cancellations page of our website.

en do I need to plan my travel?
Once you have received confirmation that you can attend, plan your journey as soon as
possible to ensure reasonable travel costs.

t time do I need to arrive at the venue?
On days one and three, coffee and registration start at 9.30am and the course starts at
10:00am.
Wha
t do I need to bring to the course?
You will need to bring your pre-workshop reading materials. These will be sent to you by
email approximately three weeks before day one of the course.
How can I access other CPPE learning programmes?
The course fee includes access to relevant learning programmes to help you address
your individual learning needs.
On
ce you have registered with the GPhC and are providing NHS services in England,
you can register with CPPE on our website and you will not have to pay for the majority
of our programmes because they are funded by NHS Health Education England.
If you a
re not registered with the GPhC or are not yet providing NHS services in
England, you can register with CPPE on our website and purchase our learning
programmes for the displayed price.

n my children or partner come with me?
No. Your booking at the hotel is on a single room only basis.
What should I wear?
You are welcome to wear a suit but please don't think you have to. Smart, casual wear
(including jeans) is fine.

hat if I have any access needs or special dietary requirements?
Email Dave Dunning
at least two months before the course to let him know about any
special requirements.

ow many people attend Preparing for practice?
Approximately 24 pharmacists attend the course. Pharmacists who attend may have
different backgrounds and reasons for attending. Some will be preparing for practice in
England like you and others will be returning to practice following a career break.
D
ue to the nature of the Preparing to practice course we need a minimum of three
participants per course. If you book on to the event and the required numbers are
not met, CPPE will transfer your booking on to the Return to practice course and
reimburse you £250.
Will there be any form of assessment?
There is no formal assessment for the Preparing for practice in England (overseas)
programme. However, we suggest that you undertake our online assessments related to
some of the topics covered in the course, eg, Medicines use review and NHS repeat
dispensing, to demonstrate your competence to prospective employers.

ill I get a certificate?
Yes, CPPE will provide you with a certificate of attendance at the end of day four.
