evolving. During the past
three years this association has
rewritten its Vision Statement,
its Mission statement, and its
bylaws. Now, it is time to
work on developing member-
ship in the association, so that
we can continue to accomplish
its goals.
DLTA has been blessed with
some outstanding leaders—
people who have volunteered
and contributed hundreds of
hours of their time to make
Dixie Land Title Association a
viable entity. Some of the
change that has occurred in
the industry has affected some
of those leaders. It is now
time for new leaders to step
forward and take up the torch.
We have many young, ener-
getic members in line to do
just that.
Hopefully, we can look at
this change with confi-
dence, so that it inspires,
knowing that the chal-
lenge exists to make
DLTA even better.
I look forward to seeing
you all in Orlando next
month. What better place
to come together to have
fun, to network, and to
learn.

Change . . . that seems to be the
defining term for the title indus-
try during the past year.
Someone once said “Change has
a considerable psychological
impact on the human mind. To
the fearful it is threatening be-
cause it means that things may
get worse. To the hopeful it is
encouraging because things may
get better. To the confident it is
inspiring because the challenge
exists to make things better.”
A large portion of my job this
past year has been to keep up
with the change in the industry,
making sure I know where every-
one has moved, updating their
contact information, and trying to
stay focused on the big picture.
I think DLTA’s big picture is
