2014 belonged to Taylor Swift. Within the rst week of
releasing her album 1989 in October, it sold 1.287 million
copies. After only nine weeks it went on to sell 3.66
million copies, beating out Frozen for 2014’s best-selling
album. Swift continued to make headlines when she
announced her decision to pull all of her music from the
popular streaming site, Spotify, after disagreeing with the
site’s low-royalty streaming service.

Inc.’s product launch event,
U2’s Songs of Innocence
album was automatically
downloaded onto as many
as 500 million iTunes
customers’ devices,
