LAKE JACKSONVILLE CAMPING RULES

1. Campers must pay their camping fee before placing camper on site.
2. Camping fees will not be refunded.
3. No sub-letting of seasonal camping permits is allowed.
4. No trailer exceeding 42 feet in length will be permitted at Lake Jacksonville.
5. Only vehicles originally manufactured as recreational campers may be used on the campsite, except
for vehicles owned by the camper prior to May 1, 1988, and used at the lake prior to that date.
6. Campers will be assigned a Point and a specific lot on that Point.
7. Campers must display a camping permit in a window or door.
8. All campers must be at least a minimum of 20 feet from water.
9. No wastewater may be dumped on to the ground or into pits
10. Mini-bikes, dune buggies, snowmobiles and other off the road vehicles are not permitted
11. No loud music will be permitted after midnight
12. No cutting of trees without permission of Lake Officials
13. Guns are prohibited at ALL times including BB and pellet guns.
14. An outbuilding or shed (limit 1) on any camp site may be no larger than 288 cubic feet(example
6'x6'x8') and must be manufactured, not homemade.
15. No coverings are to be nailed, tacked, and stapled etc. to city picnic tables. No burning on tables is
permitted
16. No glass beverage bottles are allowed in campground.
17. Lake gates will be closed and locked at the end of the camping season. (To be determined prior to
the opening of the camping season). During the closing campers may check on camping lots with the
consent of Lake Management.
18. Any campsite with grass or weeds over a height of six (6) inches will be cut by City personnel, at a
charge to the campsite permit holder of $75.00 per mowing. After 2 occurrences the lease agreement
will be void and the lease holder will be given 14 days to remove all personal property.
19. Fire wood must be stacked in a neat and orderly fashion. New state regulations also require it to be
placed off the bare ground (on a pallet).
20. Do not place campers or boats that are "For Sale" on parking lot.

21. No double parking of tents or trailers on private lots.
22. No private Porta-Potties.
23. No parking of boats and/or boat trailers on private lots.
24. Limit of one outdoor refrigerator or freezer per camp site.
25. Limit of two outdoor grills per camp site
26. Limit of two lawn mowers per camp site.
27. No modification of the electrical box on camp site.
28. No fences at the camp site.
29. No burning of trash at the camp site.
30. No trash is to be hauled in from outside the camp site.
31. No burning of treated or painted wood at the camp site.
32. No person shall keep or harbor any dog or other animal shut up to tied up in any yard, enclosure or
any premises which, by barking, howling, bawling or by other noises, shall disturb the peace and quiet of
any family, individual or neighborhood.
33. All campers will be inspected before a camping permit is issued.
34. All campers are to mark their name and lot number on their boat dock.
35. A request for construction form must be completed and approved along with a paid deposit for all
roof overs, awnings and decks.
36. Deposits shall be 500.00 dollars for roof overs, 200.00 dollars for awnings and 100.00 dollars for
decks, payable at the boat dock. Deposits will be refunded once the final inspection is completed.
37. All roof overs shall be no larger than 24 x 42 total outside dimension, and shall be constructed of
new treated lumber or prefabricated metal with metal or shingle roofs. They shall be no higher than 4
feet from camper roof height and have gutters with downspouts installed upon completion of the roof.
A minimum 3 feet setback is required from adjoining property line. Lake management can vary with
extenuating circumstances.
38. All awnings shall be no larger than 12 x 42 total outside dimension and shall be constructed of new
treated lumber or prefabricated metal with metal or shingle roof. (Accept camper original equipment.)

39. All decks shall be no larger than 12 x 42 total outside dimension and constructed of new treated
lumber. Decks over 2 feet high shall have guard rails and handrails at steps.
40. All construction new and existing shall be maintained in a safe and presentable condition.
41. All existing roof overs, awnings, decks and sheds that are in acceptable condition based on Lake
Management observation, are grandfathered and may remain.
42. Any camper who intends NOT to return for the next camping season must remove ALL items from
their camp lot.
43. Parking at each lot shall be restricted to two vehicles. Guests shall park at the entrance to each point
and not on roads, lanes or cul-de-sacs.
45. No motor vehicles allowed on crimson and rocket trails, gas or electric.
46. All boat trailers parked on Jacksonville Lakes property must have a valid boat trailer sticker, and the
grounds maintained around the trailer so that grass and weeds grow no taller than 8 inches.
47. Only boat trailers are to be parked in the designated boat trailer parking area(s). All other trailers are
not permitted. This includes camping trailers “for sale”.
The Lake Superintendent retains the right to apply a fine(s) upon violations of the above listed
ordinances ranging from $25.00 to $150.00 depending on the severity of the violation or if the violations
are reoccurring. The City of Jacksonville retains the right to terminate camping privileges and ban
anyone from Lake Jacksonville and its campgrounds for any dangerous or unsafe conduct and or
repeated violations after verbal warning(s) and fine(s) have been issued.
All fines must be paid within 10 days of the fine being issued, failure to do so could result in
temporary or permanent loss of Lake Jacksonville privileges.
