Bachelor of Science in Health Science w/Concentration in Radiography
Associate of Science in Radiography
Students successfully completing the Bachelor of Science in Health Science w/Concentration in Radiography or
the Associate of Science in Radiography degree program are eligible to apply for admission to write the
certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Successful
completion of the ARRT examination provides certification to practice as a registered radiographer. Students
convicted of a felony or misdemeanor may be excluded from clinical experience and/or taking the certification
examination.
We work diligently with all students in preparation for licensure/certification examinations,
however, graduation does not guarantee a passing score.
According to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine &
Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), states that have established requirements for the performance of Radiography
(may not be licensure) are Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois,
Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska,
Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (Out-Patient), Washington, West Virginia,
Wisconsin, and Wyoming. These requirements may vary from state to state. Statutory and regulatory
requirements can be found at each state’s board website. Passing of the certification exam is normally required in
order to apply for state license. Even in states where licensure or requirements have not been established, many
employers require evidence of certification.
We work diligently with all students in preparation for
licensure/certification examinations, however, graduation does not guarantee a passing score. Graduation from
the South College program qualifies graduates to sit for the certification exam.
