THE PUBLIC SERVICE DENTAL CARE PLAN (PSDCP):
INFORMATION FOR SEAGOING PERSONNEL
The PSDCP covers specific dental services and supplies that are not covered under a provincial or
territorial health or dental plan. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the PSDCP and do not
need to complete an enrollment form.
You can consult the Benefits Chart to review your eligibility requirements, restrictions and coverage
timelines for your contract type.

Once you become an eligible employee, membership and coverage under the PSDCP starts after
exactly 3 months of continuous employment.
Coverage is extended to the employee’s eligible dependants on the same date the employee
becomes eligible. From then on, any new dependants’ dental coverage will start on the date they
become eligible dependants.
You are responsible for notifying Canada Life as soon as possible if there are changes in your personal
circumstances that could affect your coverage.
What You Need To Do:
Though eligible employees are automatically enrolled to the Public Service Dental Care Plan, you
do need to set up your account with Canada Life. You can register for the Canada Life GroupNet
with the following information:
1. Your name and email address
2. Your Plan number:
55666 for Ships’ Crew
55555 for Ships’ Officers
3. Your certificate number: To obtain this number, you can contact the MyPay team .

You can also download the Canada Life GroupNet application from your favourite app store, to
easily manage your claims, have access to coverage balances and get an electronic version of
your benefits card.
